Requirements for ordering a virtual number

Contact Information (Name, Business Name, Phone Number)

Contact information for the business or end user, including: (1) the name of the contact person (full given name and family name), (2) the business name when the end user is a business (registered legal name where applicable; may be omitted or stated as 'N/A' for individual end users), and (3) one or more contact phone numbers where the business or end user can be reached. Contact person name and at least one phone number are mandatory; business name is required only when the end user is a business entity. Phone numbers should be in international E.164 format where possible.

Address Matching the DID Area Code (Geographic Match)

A physical address that matches the geographic area covered by the phone number's area code. The address must include street name and number, postal/ZIP code, city, and country, and the city/region of the address must fall within the geographic area assigned to the DID's area code. Addresses outside the area code's geographic region are not acceptable for this requirement; a different (broader, national-level) address requirement must be selected if the customer cannot provide a matching local address.

Example
311 W Superior St, Chicago, IL 60654 (matches Chicago area code 312). For a +44 20 (Greater London) DID: an address within Greater London such as '60 Holborn Viaduct, London EC1A 2FD'. The address must lie within the area code's geographic boundaries.

Proof of Address (Recent Bill or Invoice)

A document evidencing the customer's physical address, issued within the past 3 months. Acceptable documents include utility bills (electricity, water, gas, internet, landline telephone), invoices from the current telecommunications provider, or insurance policy documents. The document must clearly show (1) the full name of the individual or registered business name (matching the order), (2) the complete physical address (street, postal code, city, country), and (3) the document issue date. Mobile phone bills, screenshots, handwritten documents, and bills older than 3 months are not acceptable.

Example
A PDF of the latest invoice from the customer's current phone provider, addressed to the end user at their registered address, with an issue date within the past 90 days; or an electricity utility bill with the same.

Passport or Government-Issued ID Copy (End User or Authorized Representative)

A clear color copy of a valid, unexpired government-issued identity document for the end user (for personal accounts) or the authorized representative of the company (for business accounts). Acceptable documents are the biographical data page of a passport, a national identity card (front and back), or, where local rules permit, a driver's license. The copy must legibly show the holder's full legal name, photograph, date of birth, document number, issuing country and authority, issue date, and expiration date. The document must not be expired as of the submission date and must be a color scan or original PDF. Black-and-white copies, photographs at extreme angles, and screenshots of digital wallet IDs are not acceptable.

A color PDF of the biographical data page of a U.S. passport, or a color scan of both sides of a French Carte Nationale d'Identité. The holder's name on the document must match the name provided in the order's customer or representative fields.

Company Registration Certificate (Business Use Only)

An official company registration or incorporation certificate issued by the relevant government registry. Required for business end users only. The document must contain key company information including the registered legal name (matching the order), the unique registration or incorporation number, the date of registration, the registered business address, the legal form, and the issuing authority. Submitted as a clear color scan or original PDF in the local language or English. Should be dated within the past 3 months unless a different timeframe applies at the country level.

Worldwide Physical Address

A valid, real-world physical address located anywhere in the world. Must include street name and number, postal code (where applicable), city, region or province (where applicable), and country. The address provided must correspond to a validated physical address (e.g., as enriched via address validation in the Telnyx system). P.O. boxes, virtual office addresses, and mailbox-only services may not be acceptable depending on the order's downstream country requirements; a deliverable physical location is preferred.

Company Name (Full Legal Name)

The full legal name of the company associated with the phone number, exactly as registered with the relevant national company registry. The name must include any legal suffix such as 'LLC', 'Ltd.', 'GmbH', 'S.A.', 'S.r.l.', or equivalent. Maximum 150 characters, minimum 1 character. Trade names and informal abbreviations without legal status are not acceptable; the registered legal name is required.

Enter the Company Registration Number shown on the Local Company Registration Certificate. The Business Registration Number in Norway referred to Organisasjonsnummer. The number must contain exactly 9 numeric characters.

Contact Email Address of End Client

A valid email address for the end client (the natural person or business that will use the phone number), used for compliance follow-up. The submitted value must be a syntactically valid email address (max 150 characters) and should reach the end client directly. Generic or shared role-based addresses (e.g., info@, contact@) are acceptable but a personal address tied to the named end client is preferred.

Passport or ID Copy in PDF Format

A clear color PDF copy of a valid, unexpired government-issued passport or national identity card belonging to the end user (for personal accounts) or the authorized representative (for business accounts). For ID cards, both front and back must be included in the PDF. The PDF must clearly show the holder's full legal name, photograph, date of birth, document number, issuing authority, and expiration date. The document must not be expired as of the submission date. Image formats other than PDF (such as JPG or PNG) and black-and-white copies are not acceptable for this requirement.

Local Company Registration Certificate — Norway

Upload an official document issued by a recognized Norwegian government authority or commercial registry confirming that the company is legally registered and authorized to conduct business in Norway. The document must clearly display the registered legal company name, unique registration or incorporation number, date of registration or incorporation, registered business address, issuing authority, and the registry’s seal or letterhead. Submit a clear color scan or original PDF in Norwegian or English. Photographs, screenshots, and unsigned drafts are not acceptable.
